1. PLACES / NATURE TRAIL
This is a well-marked lollipop trail that has signs with information on some of the local plants. There are some nice views of Fairforest Creek. Unlike other trails in Croft State Park, this one is for hikers only. From the parking lot, you turn left to get to the trail head. It is the second one you will come to and clearly marked, about .2 miles down the dirt road. About a quarter mile into the trail, you can go right to go down to the river bank and view Fairforest Creek. Although there will be some more river views, if you wish to skip it. Up the trail a little farther, the trail splits into a loop. Heading right will take you along the creek. There are a few short boardwalk along the trail and one staircase.  Some of the trail near the part along the river is narrow with a drop off, so be careful with younger hikers. When you finish the loop, there is a nice big sign that says exit that will lead you back to the start of the trail.
