1. PLACES / NASHOTAH PARK
Nashotah Park, one of the eight Waukesha County Parks, is an excellent place to explore trails. The main features of this park are the extensive trail system and enclosed dog exercise areas; in fact this is one of the most dog friendly parks in the area! The trails, none of which are paved, offer a fantastic variety of terrain and vegetation to view. There are two small lakes that can be viewed from the hiking trails.

Helpful Trail Information

Lake, Mud Puddles, Picnic Area, Shaded Hike, Shelter, and Wildlife Viewing The 3.3 mile yellow trail is actually in a figure eight from picnic area 2, so that’s a great longer hike to attempt with kids as there’s a chance to duck out midway through. The one mile red trail is super hilly and very fun for young explorers! Starting from picnic area 1, the purple trail is surrounded by gorgeous tall pines.
