1. PLACES / MOUNTAIN LAKE VIA SULPHUR SPRINGS TRAIL
This is an easy way to experience part of the more challenging Sulphur Springs Loop, by making an out-and-back to idyllic Mountain Lake.  Along the way there are large boulders to climb, mud puddles to splash in, boardwalks and bridges to traverse, a CCC-built rest shelter, and a historic dam spillway “waterfall” (built in 1890).  Back at the parking area is an access area to a shallow stream that is perfect for wading. Park in the Sulphur Springs lot, near Shelter 5&6.  The trail begins near the entrance to the parking lot from the main road.
