1. PLACES / MONUMENT VALLEY PARK
Monument Valley Park is centrally located in Colorado Springs near downtown.  The park can be accessed by parking in a variety of areas, or even a stop along the Pikes Peak Greenway trail.  This is a great urban trail destination, as you can get some hiking, biking, walking, seasonal swimming, and even playground time. It features two playgrounds on the south and north ends.  The south end playground is sandy, has a pavilion, a seasonal outdoor swimming pool ran by the YMCA, and pickle ball courts.  As you head north along the gravel Pikes Peak Greenway you will pass a demonstration garden area and a pond.  Continue following this trail that follows the Monument Creek and you will arrive to the Monument Valley North End Playground. This playground is on the north side of the park and provides shade.  The distance from each playground is 1.1 miles along the trail.  Continue a little further north to Boddington Park where there is a large grassy area and can be used for playing soccer.  During the winter this park has some hills that are perfect for sledding.
