1. PLACES / MONROVIA CANYON FALLS
This trail runs through a lush, green canyon, mostly following the stream. There are multiple parking areas, and 4 trail heads along the trail (so you can make your journey longer or shorter). The most kid friendly length is 1.5 miles from the end of the parking lot. The trail starts near the restroom, then descends down a large hill into the canyon. It goes up and down several small hills, mostly uphill, and crosses a the creek a few times until you reach the waterfall at the end of the trail. The best time to see the waterfall is just after several rainstorms/ in the spring. Caution: This area is known for the presence of black bears. Make a lot of noise and stay together as a group, and you likely will not even see them! Also watch for falling rocks near the canyon walls and the waterfall.
