1. PLACES / MARGARET LAKE
A 6mi round trip hike will take you to a less populated lake than others in the area. Ideal for a younger child in a pack and a caregiver that is able to do some moderate hills. Although we met a very proud 7yo whom made it to the lake on her own *applause* The lake is gorgeous – a trail winds around the lake but the grassy spot you first encounter is perfect for letting your child lounge and has a good entry point to the water. Late August there are wild blueberries and huckleberries along the trail. Check the local online trail guide for a more detailed hike description.   Submitted by Danielle McLaughlin
