1. PLACES / BIDWELL PARK (UPPER) - LOWER TRAIL
Lower Trail is a high trafficked dirt trail in Upper Bidwell Park. It is best visited from October to May, or whenever it is not hot out, as there is not much shade cover. In the Spring this area is full of wildflowers and is beautiful. In the winter there are many mud puddles (and thick mud spots) and  little streams in the rock formations, which can be fun to explore. This trail is open to biking, dogs (on and off leash), and even horses.

Parking Details

Park lot E is the closest parking lot to the trailhead, but it is often full, especially on nice days. If you are patient and drive around a bit, you usually do not have to wait long for a parking spot, as people are coming and going pretty regularly.
