The 2-hour drive west of San Antonio is worth it on this loop hike meandering along the Sabinal River and among some of the most concentrated numbers of maple trees in Texas! Begin hiking counter-clockwise on the Maples Trail then follow the East Trail loop around.   Submitted by Joe Linehan

Helpful Trail Information

Camping Nearby and Creek / River There is one steep section of trail that is rather enduring. Take plenty of water as many sections are exposed with little shade. Several sections of crossing the river, albeit shallow.

Parking Details

$6 over 12 yrs old. Once entering, park in Day Use area. Get there early because the park tends to fill up in the Fall.
