1. PLACES / LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN CIRCUMFERENCE TRAIL
This is a great starter trail for kids just beginning to hike on their own and also great for smaller kids being carried. Very kid friendly. Keep in mind there is not much shade except at sunrise/sunset, but Lookout Mountain Park on the south side of the mountain has drinking fountains, restrooms, and a small and big kid’s playground along with a large grass field, volleyball court, and tennis courts. Starting from here adds a little bit of length to the trail. There are convenience stores right down the street on Cave Creek Road for any last minute runs for snacks, etc.
