1. PLACES / LAFAYETTE RESERVOIR LAKESIDE NATURE TRAIL
This is a 2.7 miles loop trail around the reservoir lake.  One end has a playground and a (watered) grassy area, the other has a boating facility with boat rentals. The trail is paved and smooth and has mileage markers at intervals.  The trail isn’t flat, there are a number of ups and downs.  Parts of the trail are shaded, but a lot is in sun.  There are some picnic areas, restrooms, nature signs, benches and water fountains along the way. The trail is very popular and will have people at all times of day.  It is quite popular with dog walkers so you will see lots of dogs, especially bigger ones.  There are some side trails off the loop, and there are other, more difficult trails including a steeper dirt path rim trail that is 4.7 miles long. Hours vary according to the season, but generally early morning to a bit after dark.  Be aware the cyclists, roller skaters, and scooters are allowed at certain times – currently Tues and Thur from noon to closing and Sunday from opening until 11am.
