Jackson Bottom Wetlands Preserve in Hillsboro spans over 635 acres and features a network of trails weaving through marshes, forests, and meadows. Whether you're following a paved ADA-friendly loop or wandering along bark-chipped paths, families will enjoy wildlife viewpoints, an interactive Nature Center with a real bald eagle nest exhibit, and a variety of habitats to spark curiosity and wonder—right in a peaceful, natural setting. Helpful Trail Information

Flat to gently rolling terrain, minimal elevation. Stroller-friendly only on paved/gravel loops; bark chip trails can be tough for standard strollers. Best for front or back carrying on natural surface trails. Highlights include: visitor center with exhibits, viewing platforms, creek, wetlands, wildlife, and shaded spots. Trails can flood in winter/spring; check before visiting.

Parking Details

Main parking lot at Visitor Center (2600 SW Hillsboro Hwy). Smaller lot at north viewing area. Both are free.
