1. PLACES / IAO NEEDLE LOOKOUT TRAIL
The Iao Needle Trail is a short, easy hike in Iao Valley. The valley is a historic burial grounds from the 15the century and where a historic battle took place in 1790. It’s also the second wettest location in Hawaii (after Kauai) and gets about 386 inches of rain a year! It’s lush, beautiful and you can find countless types of flowers and fauna. The hike is short (paved road and steps) and offers a few shorter trails off the main trail. The main trail is about .6 miles and you probably could get another .5 mile of hiking in with the other trails.
