Helpful Trail Information

This trail can get rocky and steep in some parts, so a carrier is recommended for new walkers (you could do the first part straight out from the trail head with an all-terrain stroller and come back instead of doing the loop). Dogs are permitted on leash, and it's very popular with local dog owners. It can get very muddy in spring, but it's usually worth it to see all the wildflowers when they peak in April. There are no bathrooms, but there are some shaded picnic tables at the trail head.

What gear would you suggest a family bring along?

Sun protection (there is zero shade), sturdy shoes or rain boots depending on the season, water, weather appropriate clothing.

What baby or child hazards are there on this hike?

There are a few steep and rocky parts.
