1. PLACES / HIGH CHAPARRAL OPEN SPACE
This area offers a variety of connected trails. From the parking lot be sure to start hiking on the dirt path to the left, you will hike along a wooden fence, over a road, and then the open space trails begin. You can choose to turn right onto the Ridgetop trail at the first intersection, and then turning left onto the Prairie Loop Trail at the next intersection for a total of 2 miles.  This route is all-terrain single stroller friendly, and offers great views of Pikes Peak.  Dogs are allowed, but must be leashed.  This trail is exposed and sun protection is recommended.  There are also yucca spikes throughout, so be sure to have kids stay on the main trail.  This area is not wheel-chair friendly.
