1. PLACES / HENRY CLAY FURNACE TRAIL
This is a beautiful, rocky out and back trail that leads to an old abandoned coal burning furnace, the only remaining structure from a small coal mining community. The trail starts off downhill and winds through a beautiful West Virginia hardwood forest and ends where the furnace is, along with a winding stream to throw rocks and dip feet in and two foot bridges. If hikers are looking to log more mile, Henry Clay Furnace connects to two other trails in Coopers Rock Forest Trail System. Submitted by Katie Rohrbaugh
