1. PLACES / GUNPOWDER SP: JONES ROAD
This section is ONLY accessible after Labor Day and Before Memorial Day to reduce erosion and control useage. From the parking lot, head down the well used trail. Follow the path (can be VERY muddy and washed out) until you intersect with Gunpowder Trail. Turn right and follow along the bank of the Gunpowder: make note that this area floods regularly and is evident by the amount of erosion and disturbed plants. Cross under the CSX Rail Bridge. This next section can be slightly difficult to navigate and we tend to end our excursion at the remnants of the old mill (look at the rocks for old eye-bolts. Notice how the “waterfall” has similar rock formations to that of Pot Rocks further upriver. To learn more about the mill: http://rail.habersack.com/?page_id=10
