1. PLACES / GREEN VALLEY FALLS
Green Valley Falls is a little hidden gem! Sweetwater River has a few seasonal waterfalls in the area you can look at, as well as areas to creek stomp and even a pool big enough to swim in! This short trail is a bit sketchier than it seems, so I advise you wear hiking shoes and change into flip flops once you reach your final destination. Don’t forget a towel! Depending on recent showers, there may be little water in the creek, so it us best to enjoy in the spring months or after a big rain. Young kids should be able to hike this, but may need help on steep parts or over big rocks. There is a small parking lot located in Green Valley campground. From there you will go down a fairy steep hill until you hit the creek. There is a great mellow spot to creek stomp covered in gorgeous oak trees. If you want to get to the pool, follow that trail down to the right a ways until you reach a clearing. You may need to do some rock scrambling here and unfortunately there is no shade.
