1. PLACES / GLASSY MOUNTAIN HERITAGE PRESERVE
The hike to the viewpoint of Glassy Mountain Heritage Preserve is an out and back that is about 1.3 miles total. There is a small amount of elevation gain, but it is mainly gentle. The trail itself is not too difficult, but there are some narrow spots that younger walkers will need to be watched closely. There are 2 balds along the away that would make good spots to take a break. There is a small green sign showing the trailhead off of S Glassy Mountain Church Road. You’ll hike past two rock balds along the trail before it starts to split. Make a right to head down to the view point. Admire the views of the rolling green hills and mountains in the distance before returning back the way you came.
