1. PLACES / GIBBONS CREEK ART TRAIL (STEIGERWALD WILDLIFE REFUGE)
This mild 2.8 mile loop trail provides an opportunity to view wildlife in a wetland area. There are more than 200 species of birds in the 1,000 acre area, ensuring you’ll see some wildlife on your adventure. Some of the most commons sightings include ducks, geese, blue herons, horned owls, and woodpeckers. On a clear day, this trail provides views of the Columbia River and Larch Mountain.

Helpful Trail Information

Boardwalk, Creek / River, Lake, Mud Puddles, and Wildlife Viewing Loop section of this hike closed from October 1st to April 30th. Dogs not permitted. The Refuge is open everyday during daylight hours. Closing times for the automated gate are posted on the gate at the refuge entrance. No pedestrian access allowed after dark.
