1. PLACES / FOREST PARK
This wonderful park in the heart of Everett has everything you could want or imagine! The first thing to draw your child’s eye will be the enormous playground with swings, several climbing structures and bars, a digger, spinners, and train shaped jungle gym. Behind the playground is a large splash park with an orca theme. There is an area for smaller children as well, both on the playground and in the splash park. The playground is surrounded by picnic areas and shelters. There are also tens courts, horseshoe pits, lacrosse field, dodgeball court, and a public pool with a shallow toddler pool. In the summer, walk down to the Animal Farm, a free petting zoo complete with goats, chickens, rabbits, sheep, ducks, and horses. Children can ride a horse for a small donation. Forest Park is located at the top of a hill, and the hillsides surrounding the park have a great network of trails carved into them. Take a short loop behind the playground, or jog for miles, whichever you feel inclined to do. Stop by the trailhead behind the park offices for a good map of the trails.
