1. PLACES / FIRETOWER TRAIL
This trail takes you to the remains of an old ranger residence at the site of a former fire tower.  From the top parking lot, follow the Sulphur Springs trail about 1 mile until you see the Firetower trail fork off to the left.  The trail is 1.5 miles each way, for a total of 3 miles round trip. From the PMSP Trails website:  This steep, easy-to-follow, mostly-straight, old road bed, treats you to some great scenic views of the surrounding mountains.  You will climb 400 feet in elevation as you pass through poplar, maple, oak, and pine woods intermingled with open areas grown up with wild berries and tall grasses.
