1. PLACES / NARBECK WETLAND SANCTUARY
This gem in the heart of Mukilteo is a great place for a quiet nature walk. The trail is divided into two parts: The 1.5 mile perimeter trail and the 0.5 mile interpretive trail. The small inner loop is great for any wheels, with the trail being a combination of boardwalk and packed dirt. Start by exploring the large cave and walking along the beach. Notice all the trees taken down by the resident beavers. Take a side trip up a quick set of stairs and sit in a beautiful viewing area overlooking the water. This is also a great place to find frogs, ducks, and geese. Interpretive signs along the trail tell you all about the wetlands and its native wildlife. The longer outer loop is doable with any stroller, but more appropriate for all terrain tires. It boast several viewing areas where you can try and catch a glimpse of the beavers as they work. Portions of the outer loop do run on the sidewalk along a busy street before turning back in towards the wetland, so its best to keep young ones and runners within arms reach.
