1. PLACES / EVAN'S POND
Evan’s Pond is a hidden gem located across the street from Lake Miramar next to the Scripps Miramar Ranch Library in Scripps Ranch. There is a dirt path that goes around the pond that is mild and short enough for even the littlest of feet. On the back side of the pond there is a little forest the kids can explore and play in, including a fun bridge. On the south side of the pond on the other side of a stone wall there is a large field that the kids can run around in. Bring a picnic lunch if you want to just sit and enjoy the beautiful views of the pond and watch all the wild birds! There are unfortunately no bathrooms or drinking fountains at the pond. There are probably bathrooms in the library, but I am not sure what their rules or hours are. There are public bathrooms at Lake Miramar which is across Scripps Lake Dr.

Parking Details

There is a parking lot for the library right next to the pond. There are signs that say the parking lot is for library use only, and I am not positive if the pond counts as library property or not. However we have parked there many times and have seen countless others do it and no one has ever said anything, but please park at your own risk. There is also street parking down Scripps Lake Dr. or at Lake Miramar if you don’t want to risk it.
