Daniel ridge falls is an easy to access waterfall, perfect for all terrain strollers and new walkers. The trail is a Mountain bike trail, part of a 5 mile loop, but you can simply take the aproximately 1/2 mile section of the trail from the parking lot to the waterfall making the total distance out and back a little under 1 mile.
There are good number of primitive campsites along the trail with creek access a good portion of the way, so it makes a perfect trail for side adventures and exploration. Older children will find plenty to keep them interested beyond the waterfall itself! You can get wet at the falls but it’s not ideal for much water play, however you can stop along the creek in many places on the way back (or at the beginning) to wade and splash.
Starting out from the parking lot you will come across a foot bridge a short ways down the trail, soon after the foot bridge, the trail will split and you will want to go to the right, following the sign for the water fall. The remaining hike to the falls has a slight grade, but nothing an all terrain stroller can’t handle. At the falls themselves you can scramble up a short steep path and over rocks and boulders to the base of the falls. ( note: shortly before the falls you will see a trail marker for the Daniel ridge loop trail going steeply up the hillside, this is NOT the way to the base of the falls, keep going straight when you see this.)
Once at the falls you can climb around on boulders and older children, with some assistance, can get right up to the waterfall and get wet. It might be a bit technical for toddlers and younger children though.
