Helpful Trail Information

From the parking lot you go through a little tunnel under the road and can go straight or left to take the Interpretive Trail loop. It's fairly flat but dirt and gravel, making it fairly easy for early walkers. It does parallel the river for half the trail and crosses a trickle or creek (depending on the time of year and rainfall). The main bathrooms close seasonally but there are permanent port-a-potty style bathrooms available year round just through the tunnel on the other side from the parking lot.

What gear would you suggest a family bring along?

Weather appropriate clothing, sturdy shoes, a change of clothes & towel if your kiddo likes the water.

What baby or child hazards are there on this hike?

The trail goes along the river, and there are bear warnings posted (although I've never seen one here).

Parking Details

There is a paved parking lot at the base of the hill next to the bathrooms that provides the best trail access. It can be a little tricky if there's snow or ice on the road!
