1. PLACES / CROMWELL VALLEY: MINEBANK
Short and sweet this is a summertime family favorite. Start this hike by walking down to the car bridge you used to park your car. Turn LEFT to go to the Minebank Trail. You’ll be walking this trail passing by the newly renovated Lime Kilns, and don’t forget to check out both amphibian ponds. In between is a MASSIVE Sycamore and we love to see how big the leaves are to our own heads during the Fall. On the way back there are a few places you can venture down to the Minebank Creek itself. Use caution, especially post rain events but enjoy looking for crayfish and other aquatic species! This trail can have a few epic puddles for kid size jumps. There is also a lot of poison ivy in the section where the massive Sycamore is.
