1. PLACES / COTTONWOOD CREEK TRAIL
The Cottonwood Creek trail is a multi-use trail for runners, walkers, and bikers. It is 6.3 miles long and runs east to west or visa versa.  From the east side you can access the trail at the Austin Bluffs Parkway and E Woodmen Road intersection.  At the west side you can access the trail at the Pikes Peak Greenway intersection.  There are other access points in between. This trail is mostly paved, and has a some areas of dirt.  It has little shade along the path, so be sure to bring layers and sun protection. Along the trail is the Cottonwood Creek Park which features seasonal bathrooms, a disc golf course, playgrounds, a big grassy area, soccer fields, the Cottonwood Creek Recreation Center (indoor pool), softball/baseball fields, tennis courts, and an in-line hockey court.  During the winter this park has good sledding hills.
