1. PLACES / COBBLE LOOKOUT
This trail is 2.5 miles round-trip, with very little elevation gain as you drive up most of the elevation. It is a perfect beginner hike in all seasons. The view is absolutely beautiful and amazing to get such a view for so little effort. Expect mud/ice in spring, a trail easy enough to bring 3 year olds on in the summer, absolutely beautiful foliage in the fall, and snow/icy conditions in winter that are normally just a bit harsher than areas at a lower elevation but it adds to the beauty. There is also an icy “waterfall” which is only present in winter and you may have the pleasure of seeing ice climbers on this, a big hit with the kids. Trail submitted by Valerie Gregory
