1. PLACES / CHIMNEY BEACH TAHOE
The Chimney Beach Trail on the East shore of Lake Tahoe is easy to access and yet a bit off the beaten path. There is a seasonal parking lot and bathroom, and year round roadside parking. Its about a mile of trail down to a sandy beach studded with boulders both in the sand and in the crystal clear blue water, and a historic stone chimney-the last of what stands from a private homestead. Its a beautiful beach for sandcastles, picnics, splashing and enough trail to feel like you’ve hiked with the kids. A toddler may even be able to hike this in its entirety or maybe just half way. Carrier friendly.  Dog friendly.
