1. PLACES / SAUNDERS-MONTICELLO TRAIL AT KEMPER PARK
A 2 mile, gently graded trail ascending Carter Mountain towards the entrance of the visitors center for Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello. There is a small (free) children’s exhibit within the visitors center as well as a small cafe for drinks & snacks. This trail is suitable for strollers, hiking and running. It is part of the larger Kemper Park including an arboretum, amphitheater, a two acre pond and a boardwalk.
