1. PLACES / CANYON NATURE TRAIL
This trail is family friendly, new walker friendly and 99% wheelchair accessible. If you start this trail at the first parking lot with the large building with bathrooms, it is considered all accessible but if you start at the Canyon Nature Bridge Trail head parking lot, you will either need help lifting a wheelchair/stroller or wagon up two steps to get on the bridge, then after that it is all accessible. This trail has the occasion sign describing the plant an or animal life and is fun for preschool age and up kids to learn about. The trail will lead you to a picnic area will tons of picnic tables and fire pits as well as a building with bathrooms, open from May-September.

Helpful Trail Information

Creek / River, Natural Play Area, Picnic Area, Shaded Hike, and Wildlife Viewing This is a paved trail, perfect for all abilities/wheels but please note You will need help lifting strollers over two steps onto the bridge or if in a wheelchair, start this hike at the parking lot just west of this one, by the bathroom building. For those able to lift a stroller/wagon/wheelchair up two steps: the first section of the trail is quite steep, you may need assistance pushing a wheelchair up the ramp but after that it is great and it will take you all the way back down to the picnic tables. This trail also has signs identifying different plant and animal life along the way.

Parking Details

Just tell the ranger at the booth that you’re going to the Canyon Nature Trail and they’ll let you pass. Or simply drive around the stop sign and wave as you drive by, you DO NOT need to stop.
