1. PLACES / CANDY MOUNTAIN INTERPRETIVE LOOP
This is a beautiful trail and a wonderful learning opportunity for both kids and adults alike! At 1.2 miles long, it’s also a perfect opportunity for little legs to carry themselves. Throughout the loop, there are many opportunities and signage to learn about local plants, rocks and ice age flooding. To hike this loop, hike towards the mountain on the main trail, but loop back when you see a fork in the trail. There isn’t a real restroom, but there is a blue porta-potty in the parking lot. The trail is dog friendly but must be leashed. In the beginning of the trail, there are two spots where a local gravel road for a few residences must be crossed.
