1. PLACES / CAMASSIA NATURE PRESERVE
Camassia Nature Preserve is a wildflower oasis in the center of the city. This lush area consists of 22.5 acres of unique landscape including forest, marsh and rocky plateaus. After parking at the end of Walnut Street, you’ll arrive at a Trailhead sign with brochures. Pick one up to read about the many plant species in this area. This loop trail is well marked along the way and offers opportunities to exit at several spots. Some of the plants you may see include Common Camas, Rosy Plectritis, Oregon Saxifrage, Great Camas, Blue Eyed Mary, and Western Buttercups. Blooms typically begin in April and last through May. Watch for poison oak (off trail) and fall hazards (roots and rocks)
