1. PLACES / BILL ALLEN PARK LOOP
This is a very child friendly small park, with a paved trail through a disc-golf course. There are water fountains by the pavilion, there’s a playground, as well as a pond stocked with fish and turtles that you can feed from a mini and newly remodeled pier. There’s even a little library near the playground so your little ones can pickup a book. Bill Allen park’s sign is located at Nortpointe Dr. and Carroll Ave., the parking lot is off Carroll, by the pavilion. The trail past the playground will take you to a fork, if you go over the bridge and past the outdoor theatre, the pond will be in the back. (There’s a mini loop to the right of the parking lot with views of the river and some benches). After visiting the pond and the theatre, you can come back toward the bridge and then continue north on the trail, and then make your way back south on the sidewalk along Northpointe to come back to the Bill Allen park sign and the pavilion. If it has been raining the area does tend to flood in areas.   Submitted by: Kristine Tague
