1. PLACES / ASPEN TRAIL - MUELLER STATE PARK
The Aspen trail is found in Mueller State Park and it is a 2.5 mile looped trail that connects with the School Pond trail, making it a total of 3 miles round trip from the trailhead. (3.5miles from the parking area) This trail is very popular during the fall season, as there are many aspen groves that have outstanding colors.  This trail is partially shaded, but mostly exposed.  All-terrain strollers can be used, but only if the trail is not muddy or covered in snow, so hiking during the summer of fall is best. There are a few steep inclines which might be difficult for a stroller in general, but an all terrain could make it. From the main entrance of the park, you will drive to the School Pond trailhead parking lot, which will be on your left.  Hike along the School Pond trail and at the first intersection, take the furthest left to stay on School Pond trail.  Here there is a bit of a steep incline.  You will reach another intersection, which you can go left or right for the looped section of the hike.  We usually go to the left and hike to a large aspen grove and have a snack break.  Restrooms are available at the visitor center.  No pets are allowed on the trail. This trail is not ADA friendly.  $8 daily pass or an annual pass can be purchased.
