Anderson Farm County Park is the newest park within the Dane County Park System and was established in 2014. It is located in the Town of Oregon, a nearby suburb approximately 20 minutes away from to Madison, WI. It features a variety of landscapes within its 310 acres including woodlands, agricultural land and prairie. There is a 1 mile hiking trail located in the northern end of the park that wanders through the Arthur Sholts Memorial woods. You can also hike along the field roads that run alongside the agricultural fields.
The terrain across the park is gentle with little elevation making it a great spot for little legs and a variety of walkers. It is possible that an all-terrain stroller could navigate the terrain, but would still be a bit bumpy and carriers are recommended in case children get tired. The trails within the park intersect, which allows you to take a variety of paths if you chose. The park also offers wildlife viewing, snowmobile trail, snowshoeing trail, picnic area, foraging, and a portable toilet is usually available in the parking area.
