OutGrown is a nonprofit committed to Bridging the Baby Nature Gap and fostering community connections through outdoor experiences for families with young children. We are excited to offer several open board positions that provide immediate opportunities to shape our future and strengthen our impact.

We are seeking candidates with experience in:
- Nonprofit finance and accounting, particularly with streamlining systems to support organizational growth.
- Grant writing and fundraising.
- Public health, especially perinatal care and services.
However, we also highly value lived experience and diverse perspectives. Whether your expertise comes from professional skills or personal experiences that align with our mission, we encourage you to apply. We still welcome your interest if you're passionate about our work but don't see your specific skills listed. We are looking for individuals who have the time, commitment, and passion to actively engage in building a mission-driven, sustainable organization.
What You Can Expect as a Board Member
OutGrown operates with a Working Board, meaning all members actively contribute their time and skills as we grow. This includes approximately 10 hours of involvement per month, which may vary depending on your focus areas.
Board members select committees or workgroups that align with their talents and interests, ensuring their contributions are personally fulfilling and impactful. We believe the best engagement happens when Board members work on projects that excite them and align with their goals.
Application Process & Timeline
If you’re ready to help us grow and make a difference, here’s the timeline for the 2024 Nomination Cycle:

September 15-October 15: Applications are accepted for open positions.

October 16 - November 5: Applicant interviews

November (Board meeting): Board deliberation and voting on all new candidates.

November 19-25: Board Development Committee follows up with all candidates.

November 25 - December 31: Onboarding of all incoming Board and committee members.

January 2025: New board and volunteer terms officially begin.

February 2025: First quarterly meeting with new board members.
