The 10-Minute Walk initiative seeks to "create a world in which 100% of people in U.S. cities have safe access to a quality park or green space within a 10-minute walk of home by 2050." Currently, in the United States, more than 100 million people are lacking access to a park within a half miles of their home.
OutGrown feels strongly about being a voice to advocate for safe greenspaces for everyone, so we are asking our community to join the initiative by reaching out to their elected city officals to ask them to take the pledge!
How can you help? Visit the 10-Minute Walk website for details on the initiative and its mission.
You can be a voice for your community by reaching out to your city officials to join the movement. We have a sample letter here to help get you started!
Join us during our birthday month to clean up your favorite trail, park, or greenspace. Organize and event with your community, or just head out with your kiddos. Check out our resources below for best practices on trail clean ups with little ones!
